The Downriver Council for the Arts invites artists using all mediums to submit works for Carnival, a vibrant exhibition capturing the charm, nostalgia, and everyday magic of hometown fairs. From the glow of ferris wheels against a summer sky to the crunch of corn dogs and powdered-sugar smiles, we’re seeking artwork that celebrates the sights, sounds, memories, and hidden stories of neighborhood and small-town carnivals. Think midway lights, rickety rides, stuffed animals won at games of chance, elephant ears, the thrill, the color, the celebration of community—all through your artistic lens. Look for themes like memory, Americana, fleeting moments, and community. Whether your artwork captures the joy, the nostalgia, the quirky charm, or the hidden grit of carnival life, we want to see how you celebrate this!
