Bits & Bots Workshop 12/10/25

Bits & Bots Workshop - Spare trash to space treasure!

Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 4-6pm

In this hands-on workshop, students will turn everyday junk into imaginative mini spaceships or robots using the techniques of kitbashing (combining unrelated parts) and greebling (adding tiny details for realism). We’ll explore how movie prop designers build worlds from scrap — and how to transform leftover bits and bobs into something that looks straight out of a sci-fi film.

Students will experiment, problem-solve, and discover how innovation often begins with rethinking what’s right in front of us. Everyone leaves with a finished piece that looks ready for the big screen.

All supplies are included, but participants are encouraged to bring small unused mechanical junk items from home (pens, bottle caps, clips, loose bolts, etc.)

Ages: 12-18 yrs

Cost: $25
