Nuno-Felted Scarves Workshop - 10/15/19

Tuesday, October 15, 2019 5:00-9:00pm

Nuno felting is a technique that marries silk and wool into one piece of fabric and can create truly beautiful effects within the felting process. Raw wool fibers reach through the loosely woven silk and tighten up, allowing the fabric to ruche and tuck in on itself. Each participant will make their own finished Nuno-felted scarf using vintage Sari silk from India and Merino wool. These unique scarves are versatile and light-weight, perfect fr anyone who loves a splash of color. Nicole Gillies from Roving Eye is will teach you how to make these gorgeous textiles!

Cost: $15 per student plus $10 material fee paid directly to the instructor on the day of class. Please bring an old towel. All other materials will be provided.

Open to ages 17 and up. Space is limited! You must register and pre-pay by October 12.
Call: 734-720-0671 or purchase online at www.downriverarts.org (online includes a $2 service charge).

Save the dates! More creative felting workshops planned for Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.
