Cancelled - Ballroom Dance Lessons - Fall 2023
Due to low interest, ballroom dance lessons have been cancelled. We would still like to offer a program in the future, however, we need participants. If you are interested, please send an email to dc4arts@downriverarts.org and let us know.
Bimonthly on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:00pm
Open Social Dance from 8:00-8:30pm
$50.00 for a punchard of 4 classes or drop-in for $15 a class. Purchases can be made online below or in the office.
The following lessons will be taught on these dates. We are open to your suggestions, so please let us know if you would like a different or more on style. Due to low interest at the start, we’ll be offering these lessons bimonthly on the following dates:
Foxtrot 10/11, Swing 10/25
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND ALL SKILL LEVELS! AGES 14+
Don’t have a partner? No worries, many people attend without a partner and find great support in learning to dance. Try it out!

New DCA Instructor, Ashley Somers is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she was a competitive ballroom dancer, Ashley works at Woodhaven High School and co-owns an independent technical theatre company with her partner Valerie. She has been dancing in a variety of styles for over 25 years, and has also choreographed a few youth theatre productions. Ashley loves ice cream and her dog Mya.
