1978-2008:
Celebrating 30 Years of serving The downriver Community
The
Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) is located
in an historic, restored brick farmhouse at 20904 Northline
Road on the campus of Wayne County Community District-Downriver
Campus between I-75 (exit 37) and Telegraph
Road in Taylor, Michigan.
The DCA is a regional arts
organization and public gallery serving 21 Downriver communities, over 350,000 people and 65 cultural groups. The
Downriver region includes Allen Park,
Belleville, Brownstown, Ecorse, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Huron,
Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood,
Romulus, Southgate, Sumpter Twp., Taylor, Trenton, Van Buren, Woodhaven and Wyandotte.

made the event such a success.
Coming
in May 2008-2 "Fun"draisers for Gallery programs
"$20
Bucks ARt Exhibit & Sale" May 9, 5-8 pm Guests
to the event are invited to purchase a painting from the Gallery
wall for a mere $20. Refreshments that evening include gourmet pb
& j sandwiches, Calder's chocolate milk and other fine
goodies. Artists donating work receive a voucher to purchase
artwork from the gallery for only $10. We are currently
accepting donations of artwork valued at $20 or more. Drop off
donations at the DCA during our regular hours, W-F, 10-4, Sat,
Noon-3.
3rd
Annual Yard Sale/Ultimate Trunk show, saturday, May 10,
9am-4pm
The
DCA is accepting smaller household items and art related material
(no clothing or toys, please). Drop off: May 7 and 8th, 10-4.
In
conjunction with the Yard Sale, we will rent parking spaces for
$20 each to artists who wish to sell artwork or art related items
from their van, truck or car trunk. Proceeds from the Trunk Show
REMAINS with the seller.
