DETROIT PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP AUDITION
with veteran actor/coach/producer John Forman

Acting Classes Begin September 13th and October 6th

The Fall Session of the New Detroit Performance Workshop Acting Classes is now 
being organized and accepting a limited number of students.
 
This 6 week, professionally oriented program, taught by veteran actor/ acting coach 
John C Forman, involves learning Acting Craft, preparation, working on the imagination
 and impulsivity, along with scene work, character developement and the basics 
of show business.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th 
M.L. Liebler
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m



M. L. Liebler is an internationally known and widely published Detroit poet, university 
professor, literary arts activist and arts organizer. He is the author of 13 books 
including, "Wide Awake in Someone Else's Dream" which won both the Paterson
Poetry Prize for Literary Excellence and the American Indie Book Award for 2009. 
Liebler has performed in Israel, Russia, Germany, China, France, UK, Macao, Italy,
 Spain, Finland, Turkey, and most of the 50 states. He was recently selected as
Best Detroit Poet by The Detroit Free Press & Detroit Metro Times. In 2010, he received
The Barnes & Noble Poets & Writers Writers for Writers Award with Maxine Hong 
Kingston & Junot Diaz. 

The DCA Parlor Series features music, a featured poet and open mic performances.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
"Edouard Manet"
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Speaker: Michael Farrell

Although not officially considered an Impressionist, Manet's unorthodox approach
 to subject matter, composition and technique placed him among the young French
 moderns who would become known as the Impressionists. 

Professor Farrell  has been a professor of art history and founder of the Honors Art 
History Program at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, since 1968. He has 
also taught for Central Michigan University and the College for Creative Studies, and 
as adjunct education curator at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Detroit Historical 
Museum . Professor Farrell's entertaining and informative lecture style has made him 
a popular and much sought after speaker.
