DCA congratulates the 2007
19th Annual
Salute to Excellence Honorees
The Salute to
Excellence Awards are meant to honor individuals who have
contributed to the quality of life downriver. Several
nominations were considered this year. This year's honorees
include a cross-section of individuals and groups who have made a mark in our
communities in the areas of cultural and community service.
These are not popularity awards, but exemplify a lifetime of works
dedicated to the principles of community service.
Roland
& Carol Ann Owens
Performers and Community Activists who have provided
continuous service to many non-profit organizations through performances.
Their mission statement: "to help children discover the path to
realize their dreams."
Claudette
& Jack Rourke
Community
Activists and Supporters, especially for their work on behalf of the
historic landmark, Henry Ford Estate, support of Michigan artists
and other arts and cultural organizations.
Karen
Wilson
Arts Supporter
and Community Business Leader who has contributed to the enhancement
of the quality of life Downriver by serving as a board member and
volunteer for many organizations and sponsor for numerous events.

Community Players
Community
Organization that has for more than 50 years enriched the performing
arts in the Downriver area and providing performance opportunities
for hundreds of community actors.
